SCOTIA - Rylie Smith scored the game's lone goal with 22 minutes remaining to lift sixth-seeded St. Johnsville to a 1-0 win over third-seeded Mekeel Christian Academy on Saturday.

"It was a very hard-fought, physical game," St. Johnsville coach Zale Benton said.

Leann Knapp made 14 saves to post the shutout win in goal for St. Johnsville, which avenged a 3-1 home loss to Mekeel Christian on Oct. 12.

Emily Taplin made four saves for Mekeel Christian.

St. Johnsville (6-11 overall) will face second-seeded Loudonville Christian in the semifinals Friday at 4 p.m. at Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Mekeel Christian finishes its season with an 8-7-2 overall record.
