COLONIE - St. Johnsville knocked off top-seeded Loudonville Christian, 3-2, in overtime in the quarterfinals of the Class D boys soccer tournament at the North Colonie Sports Complex.
Brandon Campione scored in overtime to lift the eighth-seeded Saints to their second straight overtime win in the playoffs. St. Johnsville edged No. 9 seed North Warren at home Wednesday in double overtime 4-3.
"Kyle Smith played a great game by distributing the ball from his center mid position and Dakota Mereness was huge on defense to help the Saints secure the win," St. Johnsville coach Travis Heiser.
The Saints grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first half as Tristan Engle and Johnny Vicciarelli scored. Campione assisted on Vicciarelli's goal.
Loudonville Christian answered with two straight goals to tie the game at 2-2 as Antonio Meehan and Greg Zaloom scored. Ryan Walsh assisted on Meehan's goal.
However, Campione's overtime goal won the game for the Saints.
St. Johnsville (11-7 overall) will face either No. 5 Argyle or No. 4 Northville in the semifinals Wednesday at Queensbury High School at 3 p.m.
Northville will host Argyle today at 3 p.m.
