SARATOGA SPRINGS - The Amsterdam girls cross-country team finished second Wednesday at the Big 10 Championships at Saratoga Spa State Park.
Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons won the boys and girls team titles.
In the girls' race, Bishop Gibbons' Talya Williams won with a time of 19:08.49 on the 3.1-mile course. Bishop Gibbons placed five runners in the top 10 to finish with 21 team points. Amsterdam (49 points) was second, Schenectady (103) was third, Catholic Central (108) was fourth and Albany (116) was fifth.
Amsterdam Illenis Quinones (20:08.02) was third, while Chantel Dopp (20:53.40) was 10th.
Kelly Paris (11th, 21:12.31), Deborah Johnson (12th, 21:31.42), Caitlyn Adamchick (13th, 21;37.48) and Brenda Santana (20th, 22:41.96) also posted top-20 finishes for the Lady Rams.
Other Amsterdam finishers included Amber Natole (33rd, 25:00.96), Sarah Thane (34th, 25:02.22), Danielle Fazio (36th, 25:33.29) and Kelsey Thompson (40th, 26:10.06).
In the boys' race, Albany's Philo Germano won with a time of 15:21.41.
Bishop Gibbons won the team title with 24 points, placing five runners in the top 10. CBA (81 points) was second, LaSalle (90) was third, Amsterdam (91) was fourth and Albany (101) was fifth.
Matt Raponi led Amsterdam, placing 11th with a time of 17:01.70.
Nick Raponi (13th, 17:17.10) and Brett Flint (20th, 18:04.16) also posted top-20 showings for the Rams.
Other Amsterdam finishers included Josh Turo (22nd, 18;16.17), Teddy Picciocca (25th, 18:24.34), Patrick Purtell (36th, 19:24.48) and Ian Alejandro (38th, 19:51.55).
