James C. Albini, 95, died on October 13, 2012. Jim was born in Gloversville and resided there until he joined the Marines during World War II, where he served in Iwo Jima and many other Pacific battles. He attended Syracuse University and worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as a deputy director. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion. Their son, James J. Albini Sr., survives. He is also survived by his wife, Doris; and her children, Laura (John) Calabrese, Warren Steven Thomas, and Candy (Tony) Mowrey, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family.
