Mrs. Betty J. Pasquarelli, age 74, died peacefully at her home in Gloversville on Sunday, October 21, 2012, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
She was born February 8, 1938, in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Kurt and Erna Knopf Otto. A graduate of Gloversville High School, she also graduated with a nursing degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
Betty was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years in the maternity unit at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
Betty's favorite times were spent with family and friends, weekend camping trips with her fiance, Mike, in the Adirondacks and spoiling her 11 grandchildren.
Betty is survived by: her fiance, Michael Macklin of Gloversville; four children, Kathy Garber of Gloversville, Rick Garber (Leslie) of Mayfield, Ron Pasquarelli (Shelly) of Whitesboro and Melissa Buyce (Josh) of Gloversville; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Kira and Kelsey Gibson, Jon Owens (Mandi), Michael and Christian Garber, Leah, Sarah and Lucas Pasquarelli and Juliana and Devin Buyce. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Marie Otto, and nephew, J.T. Otto.
Betty was predeceased by her brother, John Otto.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 26, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
