H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Galway sweeps past Mayfield, 3-0

GALWAY - Adrianna Watrobski finished with eight service points, eight assists, three aces and three kills to lead Galway to a 3-0 win over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference North Division volleyball match Monday.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-22 to clinch the WAC North title.

Chelsea Cucci posted 13 points, four aces and one kill for Galway (16-1 overall, 12-1 WAC), while Emily Orminski registered 16 assists, six kills and five points.

Hayley Martin posted seven points and five kills for the Golden Eagles, Rachel Jones had five kills, three blocks and three points, and Emily Zawisa posted six kills.

Karissa Morey finished with 12 points, four kills, four assists and three aces for Mayfield (11-5 overall, 9-4 WAC), while Miranda Eagan posted six points, six kills, six digs and two blocks.

Nicole Little registered seven points and five kills for the Lady Panthers, and Mackenzie Biggers added five digs.

Schoharie 3, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH - Briana Borst finished with 14 service points and 12 kills to lead Schoharie to a sweep of Middleburgh.

Ally Blyth posted 10 kills for the Indians, while Grace Gathan finished with nine points and six kills.

Emily Pieniazek added 10 assists and seven kills for Schoharie (11-3 overall, 11-2 WAC).

Shyla Hinkley posted four blocks and three kills for Middleburgh, while Larissa Miller had 16 digs.

Duanesburg 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2

BERNE - Taylor Martineau posted 22 digs and five kills to lead Duanesburg to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Eagles won by scores of 15-25, 27-25, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-23.

Stephanie Snow recorded 16 points for Duanesburg (8-7 overall, 7-6 WAC).

Danielle Hubbard finished with 26 digs, 21 kills and five blocks for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (7-8 overall, 6-7 WAC), while Gabrielle Audino posted 18 digs, 12 points, 11 kills and four aces. Erin McIntyre added 13 digs and 10 kills for the Lady Bulldogs.
