Boys Soccer Roundup: FFCS loses to Albany Academy

FONDA - Jordan Newton finished with four goals and an assist to lead Albany Academy to a 7-2 win over Fonda-Fultonville in a Colonial Council boys soccer contest Monday.

John Moutopoulos registered three goals and an assist for the Cadets, while Dami Osofisan posted two assists.

Milan Saitia added an assist for Albany Academy.

Joe Fox and Tom Lyons scored for Fonda-Fultonville (2-12-1 overall, 2-10-1 Colonial).

Hugh Fisher and Michael Goodman combined to make nine saves for Albany Academy (14-1 overall, 12-1 Colonial).

Tyler Folmsbee made five saves for FFCS.

WAC

Fort Plain 5, St. Johnsville 1

FORT PLAIN - Marcus Failing scored twice to lead Fort Plain to a WAC Central Division victory over St. Johnsville.

Aiden VanLoan, Will Logan and Derrel Diffin also scored for the Hilltoppers (10-4-2 overall, 9-3-2 WAC), while Jake Sardina added an assist.

Brandon Campione scored the lone goal for St. Johnsville (9-7 overall, 7-7 WAC).

Chris Hanifin made eight saves for Fort Plain.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Middleburgh 2

BERNE - Adam Forti scored twice to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a Western?Athletic Conference South Division win over Middleburgh.

Ben Becker also scored for the Bulldogs (9-7 overall, 7-7 WAC).

Austin Roney got both goals for Middleburgh (6-8-2 overall, 5-7-2 WAC).

Trevor Haack made 15 saves for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Nick Righi made three saves for Middleburgh.

Galway 1, Mekeel Christian 0

GALWAY - An own goal by Mekeel Christian lifted Galway to a WAC North Division win.

The win clinched the WAC?North title for the Golden Eagles.

Evan Ceroalo made eight saves for Galway (15-1 overall, 13-1 WAC).

Rhain Zeronda made seven saves for the Lions (13-3 overall, 11-3 WAC).

Foothills Council

South Glens Falls 3, Queensbury 0

QUEENSBURY - Cody Kostrzebski scored twice, leading South Glens Falls to a win over Queensbury.

Luke VanDixhorn added a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, while Blake Snyder had an assist.

Josh Hay made eight saves for South Glens Falls (11-3-2 overall, 8-2-2 Foothills).

Pat O'Mara made 13 saves for Queensbury (7-9 overall, 6-6 Foothills).
