Strangers helping during stressful time

October 22, 2012
The Leader Herald

It won't ever happen to me. Ever say that?

I did and that is why it was always so easy for me to reach out, to help, to donate, to give or just be there for others who needed something or someone. Now, I'm faced with so much I never thought I would have to deal with physically or mentally.

I'm overwhelmed. No, not by the thought of an illness, but by the reaching out, the help, the donations and all the love and prayers I'm receiving. I have been touched by so many friends near and far, ones I speak to every day and some I haven't spoken with in years. Strangers (not any longer), but strangers praying for me, cooking for my family, donating their time and being so very generous - for this I am so blessed.

Thank you to the Pollaks, VanAernams, Millers, Fitzgeralds, Satterlees, Derwins, Praughts, Hollisters, Bensons, Tylers, Eatons, Ruggeris, Stewarts, Empies, Lakes, Cheneys, Robisons, Kollars, Palmateers, Judy Swatt, Jackie Swatt, Lynn Bennett, Hope Sweesy, Kelly Hudson, Mary Swatt, Lindy Sweetman, Danielle Alteri, Ali Martin, Bill and Carol Cooper, Gabbie Dantonino, Tiffany Brown, Deb Clothier, Caitlin Vanderbeck, Gina Emden, Julie Dacre, Vickie Gonzalez, Diane Giustiniani, Unique Xpressions and Fantastic Sams of Amsterdam. If I forgot to mention you - please know every visit, card, prayer, gift or just kind word is so appreciated and I'm so thankful.

Words can't express my thoughts and feelings toward my family and Bruce - you are truly my angels. My heart is full. Keep me in your prayers as you are in mine.
