Girls Soccer Roundup: Gloversville girls blank Hudson Falls

HUDSON FALLS - Chanel Thomas scored three goals and had an assist to lead Gloversville to a 4-0 win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council girls soccer game Saturday.

Caroline Bakyta also scored for the Lady Dragons, while Emma Botch finished with two assists. Alexis Capasso also had an assist for Gloversville (2-13-1 overall, 2-12-1 Foothills), which outshot Hudson Falls 23-6.

Capasso also finished with five saves in goal to earn the shutout win.

Nicole Sheloski made 14 saves for Hudson Falls (0-14 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville 1, South Glens Falls 0

SCOTIA - Max Culhane scored the game's only goal to lift Scotia-Glenville to a win over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Rachael Cox assisted on the goal for the Lady Tartans.

Carina Moran made nine saves for Scotia-Glenville (12-2-1 overall, 11-2 Foothills).

Amy Jagareski made six saves for South Glens Falls (13-3 overall, 11-3 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville will face Queensbury on Monday. With a win or tie, the Lady Tartans can claim the Foothills Council title.

However, a Queensbury win would create a four-way tie for the title between Queensbury, Broadalbin-Perth, Scotia-Glenville and South Glens Falls.


Northville 4, Galway 3

GALWAY - Kelly VanNostrand scored 1:57 into the first overtime to lift Northville to a WAC North Division win over Galway.

Katie Dickey, Lyndsey Wadsworth and Mary Ryan also scored for Northville (8-6-2 overall, 7-5-2 WAC), while VanNostrand and Ryan each had an assist.

Erica Chase scored twice for Galway (11-5 overall, 10-4 WAC), while Kelly Phillips also scored. Tegan Matthews added an assist for the Golden Eagles.

Joanna Schulte made 19 saves to post the win in goal for the Lady Falcons.

Rebekah Reichard made 16 saves for Galway.

Dolgeville 2, Little Falls 1

LITTLE FALLS - The Dolgeville girls soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a win over Little Falls.

Dolgeville improved to 4-10-2 with the victory.

Little Falls slipped to 6-8-2 overall with the loss.
