GLOVERSVILLE - The Friends of the Gloversville Public Library will celebrate National Friends of the Library Week from today to Saturday with some special events.

On Wednesday, the Friends will host the musical duo the Bentwood Rockers from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Admission will be free.

On Saturday, there will be a program for children with Dan the Snake Man from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The first child born during Friends Week at Nathan Littauer Hospital will be presented with a basket of books, a news release said.

Children, from infants to those in fifth grade, will be eligible to participate in a book drawing. One child will be drawn from the infant to first grade age group, and another from second-grade to fifth-grade group.

Parents, grandparents or library patrons may fill out the forms for the drawing and place them in the appropriate box. The library staff will draw the names for each age group Tuesday to Friday. Children need not be present to win.
