AHS swim team defeats Ravena

RAVENA - The Amsterdam girls swim team won six of 12 events on its way to a 98-79 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Thursday.

Justine Youngs won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly for Amsterdam, while Kayla Dzikowicz (200 freestyle) and Mianna Conti (50 freestyle) also posted wins.

Amsterdam also won the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Casey Young (100 freestyle, 100 backstroke) won two events for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, while Dawn Mirando (500 freestyle), Savannah Hotaling (100 breaststroke) and Carly Gill (1-meter diving).

Ravena also won the 200 freestyle relay.

200 freestyle relay: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (VanDyke, Gill, Hotaling), 2:14.57.

100 backstroke: Young (RCS), 1:15.55.

100 breaststroke: S. Hotaling (RCS), 1:22.59.
