H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Gloversville outlasts Broadalbin-Perth, 3-2

BROADALBIN - Jenna Putnam finished with 28 assists, six kills and four aces to lift Glovers-ville to a 3-2 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council girls volleyball match Friday night.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-27, 25-8, 25-15, 23-25 and 25-19.

Katlyn Pierce had 21 kills, 11 blocks and eight digs for Gloversville (12-6 overall, 8-6 Foothills), while Megan McCall posted six kills and three blocks.

Chelsey Biasini had 11 kills, three digs and three aces for the Huskies, Alex Bielli recorded three kills and five aces, and Shawna Funk had six kills.

Ashley Funk added eight digs for Gloversville, while Sarah Galea and Kia Antipuesto each finished with five digs.

Broadalbin-Perth finished the regular season with a 10-6 overall record and an 8-6 mark in Foothills Council play.

Gloversville and Broadalbin-Perth now await the pairings for the Section II Tournament, which will be announced Tuesday.

Johnstown 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

SCOTIA - Zara Hyde finished with 20 service points, seven assists, five kills and five digs to lead Johnstown to a sweep over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council contest.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-7, 25-23 and 25-14.

Annie Stock registered 15 points, six kills and five aces for Johnstown (12-3 overall, 11-3 Foothills), while Bri O'Rourke posted six blocks and three kills.

Elizabeth Hayward finished with 10 digs for the Lady Bills, and Alyssa Nellis added five blocks and two kills.

WAC

Galway 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

GALWAY - Hayley Martin posted 11 service points, eight kills and six aces to lead Galway to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-15.

Rachel Jones registered 10 points, five aces, two kills and one block for Galway (15-1 overall, 11-1 WAC), while Adrianna Watrobski posted eight points, eight assists and five aces.

Gabrielle Audino posted 14 assists, nine digs and four kills for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (8-8 overall, 6-6 WAC), while Erin McIntyre recorded 12 digs and six kills.

Danielle Hubbard added seven kills and four assists for the Bulldogs.

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 3, Albany Academy 2

ALBANY - Cory Lais finished with 15 service points, including six aces, to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a win over Albany Academy.

The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-9, 19-25 and 25-13.

Kerrigan McCaslin posted 10 service points for Fonda-Fultonville (10-8 overall, 9-7 Colonial), while Miranda Nethaway added nine kills and three blocks.

Lorraine Lewis posted 12 points, six digs and three aces for Albany Academy (2-18 overall, 0-16 Colonial), while Teagan Ketchun added six digs and four points.
