Lady Bills top Scotia-Glenville

JOHNSTOWN - Senior Ashley Dona scored twice on senior night to lead Johnstown to a 2-0 win over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council field hockey game at Knox Field on Friday.

Dona's first goal came with 12:07 remaining on an assist from Hope Cerasuolo.

Her second goal was unassisted with 9:36 to play.

The goals pushed Dona's season total to 36. She also has eight assists this season.

Johnstown, which has won 15 straight games, outshot Scotia-Glenville 18-3 and finished with a 14-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Since losing its opening game to defending Section II Class A champion Shenendehowa 1-0 in overtime, Johnstown has won its last 15 games by a combined score of 77-4.

Alyssa Pertell didn't make a save on her way to the shutout win in goal for Johnstown.

It was the 10th shutout of the season for the Lady Bills.

Vanessa Walker made 16 saves for Scotia-Glenville.

It was the final regular-season home game for Johnstown seniors Dona, Pertell, Lindsay Brandt, Erin Glover, Emma Heroth, Jenna Hohenforst, Carissa O'Brien, Alexis Randolph and Alexis Swatt.

Johnstown (15-1 overall, 12-0 Foothills) now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class B Tournament. The brackets will be announced Sunday.
