FORT HUNTER - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will build a playground at the Schoharie Crossing State Park.
The playground will be near the picnic grove and will include play structures that mimic canal boats and mules, reflecting the site's connection to the Erie Canal, a news release said.
The playground will be accessible to people with disabilities.
Construction is expected to take place in the off-season. The playground will be ready for use by next spring.
The project is funded with money from the Governor's New York Works initiative.
