As a former resident of Gloversville, I just wanted to express how disgusted I am when it comes to the video of the two teens beating a grown woman. I know what it feels like to have someone you love be the victim of such a violent crime.
Bullying in any way, shape or form is not cool; it's downright awful. These girls and their parents should be ashamed and held responsible. My son lost his best friend, who was 16, to suicide this past April because he was a victim of constant bullying. I hate to even pull The Leader-Herald up on the Internet because it sickens me to see the condition my hometown is in. I hear people blaming it on outsiders moving in, but the locals are just as much to blame. I have been gone almost three years now. I love my heritage and I am a proud upstate New Yorker, but I have to say I am a little ashamed to say I am from Gloversville.
Something needs to be done or Gloversville will be lost forever. I remember as a child what a great place it was. There was a booming economy and people took pride in their homes. What happened? All y'all who still reside there should be livid, disgusted and ready to take back the community.
