Girls Soccer Roundup: B-P tops Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN - Katie Herba scored twice to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 2-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council girls soccer game Wednesday.

Herba scored once in each half for the Lady Patriots.

The goals were Herba's 26th and 27th of the season.

Rachel Orapello made 11 saves for Broadalbin-Perth (12-3 overall, 10-3 Foothills), which outshot Johnstown 20-12.

Ellen Praught made 18 saves for Johnstown (5-10 overall, 4-9 Foothills).

WAC

Canajoharie 4, St. Johnsville 1

CANAJOHARIE - Jenelle Dillenbeck scored three goals to lead Canajoharie to a win over St. Johnville.

Melissa Bowley registered a goal and an assist for the Lady Cougars, while Kara Schwab and Morgan Koelbl each had an assist.

Gabby DiPiazza scored the lone goal for St. Johnsville on an assist from Skyler Viveros.

Lauren Balfe went without a save to earn the shutout win in goal for Canajoharie (14-1 overall, 13-0 WAC), which outshot St. Johnsville 28-2.

Leann Knapp made 16 saves for St. Johnsville (5-10 overall, 5-8 WAC).

Fort Plain 5, Sharon Springs 0

FORT PLAIN - Makaila Belden finished with two goals and an assist to lead Fort Plain to a win over Sharon Springs.

Haley Kilmartin, Kendra Trembley and Allehah VanLoan also scored for the Lady Hilltoppers (2-12-1 overall, 2-10-1 WAC), while Heather Lawson added an assist.

Sharon Springs slipped to 0-13 in WAC play.

Northville 1, Mayfield 0 (OT)

MAYFIELD - Lyndsey Wadsworth scored with 4:24 remaining in the first overtime to lift Northville to a win over Mayfield.

Morgan Wilson and Joanna Schulte combined to make 10 saves to share the shutout win in goal for Northville (7-6-2 overall, 6-5-2 WAC).

Jennifer Little had 19 saves for Mayfield (3-11-1 overall, 2-10-1 WAC).

Galway 7, Mekeel Christian 0

GALWAY - Kelly Phillips finished with four goals to lead Galway to a win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Erica Chase registered two goals and an assist for the Golden Eagles, while Hayley Pawlowski also scored.

Maddy Moore posted two assists for Galway, while Lexy Hennessy and Abby Spagnola each had one assist.

Rebekah Reichard made eight saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Galway (11-4 overall, 10-3 WAC).

Emily Taplin made 16 saves for Mekeel Christian (6-5-2 WAC).

Middleburgh 3, Duanesburg 1

DUANESBURG - Taylor Cater scored twice to lead Middleburgh to a win over Duanesburg.

Amanda Roney also scored for the Knights.

Kayla Smalls scored the lone goal for Duanesburg (3-10 WAC).

Kiera Morgan made eight saves for Middleburgh (11-2 WAC), while Amanda Goodwin made 15 saves for Duanesburg.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, Schoharie 0

BERNE - Berne-Knox-Westerlo improved to 9-2-2 in WAC play with a shutout win over Schoharie.

Schoharie slipped to 6-7 in WAC play with the loss.

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 2, Watervliet 2

FONDA - Cassandra Egelston scored twice for Fonda-Fultonville in a tie with Watervliet.

Shelby Dugan and Mikayla Deguire scored for Watervliet (1-12-1 overall, 1-12-1 Colonial).

Guilyan O'Kosky made four saves for the Lady Braves (1-13-1 overall, 1-13-1 Colonial).

Jessica Cunningham made 12 saves for Watervliet.

Big 10

Schenectady 1, Amsterdam 0

SCHENECTADY - Samantha Surino scored the game's only goal to lead Schenectady to a win over Amsterdam.

Fatima Shamsuddin made 12 saves for the Lady Patriots (1-6-1 Big 10).

Cassandra Robataille made eight saves for Amsterdam (6-8-1 overall, 3-4 Big 10).

Center State Conference

Remsen 3, Dolgeville 0

DOLGEVILLE - Erin O'Connor scored twice to lead Remsen to a win over Dolgeville.

Ashley O'Connor also scored for the Lady Rams.

Megan Will made six saves for Remsen (13-2 overall, 6-1 CSC).

Abigail Mosenthin made seven saves for Dolgeville (3-10-2 overall, 1-6-2 CSC).
