I have been asking myself, "Why did so many members of Congress vote for the 'Obamacare' bill?"
I would like to believe they voted after reading and analyzing the entire bill. The bill is so massive, that is highly unlikely. I cannot recall receiving any calls from my representative asking my opinion or explaining why he voted for the new law.
What appears to have happened is each member was strong-armed into voting for the bill.
The primary motivation for our representatives seems to be ensuring their re-election, not serving their constituents. They voted for the bill to curry favor with the Democratic leadership for support in the upcoming election.
As we go to the polls, we should consider their motivations for supporting a program likely to create another huge government bureaucracy.
