October 17, 2012
The Leader Herald

BROADALBIN - Plans for the Oct. 27 Pampered Chef party were discussed at a recent meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8690.

The money for the items ordered will be collected at the party and catalog orders will be taken though Nov. 5. Product displays and prepared food samples will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at the post, the release said.

Proceeds from this sale will benefit veterans and their families in the area, a news release said.

November activities also were discussed, including the sale of poppies at various locations on Election Day. These donations go directly to the relief fund that provides assistance and memorials to family members of veterans.

The auxiliary will assist with the post's roast beef dinner on Nov. 10. Seating will start at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and will be $15 at the door. The next day, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day, and an open house will be held at the post, 19 Pine St.

The next meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 13.
