PURCHASE - The Sage College's men's golf team competed on Tuesday at the Purchase College Invitational at Old Oaks Country Club.
The Gators took home the championship with a score of 344 for the day, besting the four-team field.
The top finisher for the Gators was senior captain Ian Pingelski, a Cohoes graduate, who carded an 81 for the day to take home third place in the individual standings.
Freshman D.J. Ioele, a Johnstown graduate, posted an 88 for Sage, while junior Richie Christman, a Johnstown graduate, and senior Shane Kiselis, an Amsterdam graduate, each posted a 90.
Sage returns to action for the final event of the fall season when they travel to the Bethpage Red Course to compete in the two-day Skyline Conference Championships.
The league's championship team garners an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III Championships in May.
