GLOVERSVILLE - The Gloversville cross-country teams earned a split with Queensbury and South Glens Falls Tuesday afternoon on the 2.7-mile Gloversville High School campus course.
The Gloversville boys defeated South Glens Falls 20-36 but fell to Queensbury 19-44. The Spartans also beat South Glens Falls 15-50.
In the girls race, Gloversville edged South Glens Falls 28-29, while Queensbury swept both teams 15-50.

Queensbury's Troy Kelly was first into the chute in the boys varsity race with his time of 12:50.50, while Gloversville's Alex Gifford (13:03.97) edged Queensbury's Zane Belden (13:04.76) for the runner-up spot, while South Glens Falls' Matt Jenkins was the only other non-Spartan in the top 10 with his 10th-place finish in 13:53.85.
Also placing for Gloversville were Jack Hayes (11th/14:00.47); Hunter Marshall (16th/14:22.66); Phil Meher (17th/14:23.56); Justin Unislawski (23rd/14:53.79); Matt Rivera (37th/15:50.85); Chris Hernandez (52nd/17:46.56); Jean-Luc Mauleon (53rd/18:01.12); Anthony Hayes (57th/18:25.76); Tyler Unislawski (60th/18:46.06); Sedrick Nellis (62nd/19:07.22) and Nick Buck (64th/19:49.41).
Queensbury's Tyra Wynn won the girls race with a time of 14:53.18 as the Lady Spartans swept the top seven spots in the event.
Brittany Craven was the top finisher for Gloversville with her eighth-place finish in 15:57.43, while Sara Billings was South High's top finisher with a 10th place run in 16:06.89.
Also having strong runs for Gloversville were Kate Senzio (21st/17:38.25); Cassandra Ryan (22nd/17:39.53); Haley Schuyler (24th/17:50.50); Alicia Anich (26th/18:01.50); Sara Ambrosino (29th/18:09.53); Emily Ambrosino (32nd/18:32.96); Anna Fancher (34th/19:07.86); Darrianna Port (43rd/20:01.28) and Zoe Fancher (60th/24:53.39).
