H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Mayfield tops Fort Plain

MAYFIELD - Miranda Eagan finished with nine kills, eight service points and seven aces to lead Mayfield to a 3-1 win over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-10, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-14.

Bailey Ward posted 14 service points, nine kills and four aces for Mayfield (12-3 overall, 9-2 WAC), while Kaylee Bumpus registered nine points, five kills and three aces. Nicole Little added six kills for the Lady Panthers and Karissa Morey finished with seven points.

Brandy Walters posted nine service points and three kills for Fort Plain (3-11 overall, 2-11 WAC), while Nicole Bouchard added nine service points and two kills.

Shawna Cotton registered six points and six assists for the Lady Hilltoppers, and Cheyanne Walters posted six points and three aces.

Galway 3, Saratoga Catholic 2

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Adrianna Watrobski finished with 18 service points, seven aces, five kills and five assists to lead Galway to a win over Saratoga Central Catholic.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 15-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-22.

Emily Orminski posted 14 points, 11 assists, five aces and five kills for Galway (13-1 overall, 10-1 WAC), while Hayley Martin registered 10 points, six kills and four aces.

Emily Zawisa finished with six kills and two blocks for the Golden Eagles, and Rachel Jones had five points, four kills, two aces and two blocks.

Meghan McDonough had 17 points, 16 assists and seven aces to lead Saratoga Catholic (10-4 overall, 9-2 WAC), while Meghan Mensler finished with 21 points, 13 digs and four aces.

Natalie Pikus registered 18 digs, 12 blocks, seven kills, six points and two aces for the Lady Saints, and Liza Orsini posted 11 points, five kills and two aces.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Middleburgh 1

MIDDLEBURGH - Danielle Hubbard had a school-record 37 kills to power Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a win over Middleburgh.

Hubbard also finished with 10 digs, three assists and two aces for the Bulldogs.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo won by scores of 26-24, 25-17, 16-25, 17-25 and 25-19.

Gabrielle Audino finished with 40 assists, 16 digs seven kills and five aces for the Bulldogs (8-7 overall, 6-5 WAC), while Kathryn Salo posted 17 digs and two aces.

Shania Marotta had 11 aces and 10 kills for Middleburgh, and Larissa Miller had 18 digs. Shyla Hinkley added nine blocks and four kills for Middleburgh.

Duanesburg 3, Mekeel Christian 1

DUANESBURG - Rebecca Gallup finished with 11 kills to lead Duanesburg to a win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Eagles won by scores of 25-17, 25-11, 21-25 and 25-16.

Rachel Gamache finished with 19 service points and five assists for Duanesburg.

Victoria Alteri and Colette Reynolds each had six kills for Mekeel Christian, while Janie Frank and Anne Nelson each had six assists.

Big 10

Bishop Gibbons 3, Amsterdam 1

SCHENECTADY - Alyssa Pina tallied 14 service points to lead Bishop Gibbons to a win over Amsterdam.

The Golden Knights won by scores of 25-16, 25-12, 18-25 and 25-13.

Iman Harris finished with eight kills and two blocks for Bishop Gibbons (11-4 overall, 8-3 Big 10), while Ejada Montgomery posted 13 digs. Siobhan Muscanelli registered 12 digs and six kills for the Golden Knights, and Emily Brown added 24 assists and 12 digs.

Bayley Archinal had 12 kills and three blocks for Amsterdam (6-12 overall, 5-6 Big 10), while Jordann Bernardo had 10 kills.

Katie Ressel added 14 assists for the Lady Rams.
