H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Gloversville sweeps Hudson Falls

HUDSON FALLS - Jenna Putnam finished with 10 assists, four kills and three aces to lead Gloversville to a 3-0 sweep of Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Friday.

The Huskies won the match by scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-23.

Katlyn Pierce posted eight kills and six blocks for Gloversville (10-5 overall, 7-5 Foothills), while Christina Pavlovsky recorded seven assists.

Chelsey Biasini had four kills for the Huskies, while Ana Kroup and Alex Bielli each had two kills.

WAC

Mekeel Christian 3, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN - Anne Nelson finished with 16 service points, eight assists and four kills to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a win over Fort Plain.

Mekeel Christian won by scores of 20-25, 25-23, 26-24 and 25-17.

Janie Frank posted 12 kills, five assists and three blocks for Mekeel Christian (2-12 overall, 2-11 WAC), while Jacqueline Cummings added three digs and two kills.

Shawna Cotton had 11 aces, 10 points and four assists for Fort Plain (3-10 overall, 2-10 WAC), while Emily Potter posted seven kills and five digs. Nicole Bouchard finished with five points for the Lady Hilltoppers and Brandy Walters added seven digs.

Saratoga Catholic 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

BERNE - Natalie Pikus finished with seven blocks, seven digs and six kills to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-8.

Erin Thornton added 13 points including five aces, and posted eight digs for Saratoga Catholic (10-3 overall, 9-1 WAC), while Meghan McDonough served up eight points with four aces. She also had seven assists.

Erin McIntyre finished with 21 digs, six points, five kills, four aces and two blocks for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (7-7 overall, 5-5 WAC), while Gabriella Audino posted 18 assists, six digs, four points and two digs.

Danielle Hubbard had 14 kills, five points, four blocks, three aces, three digs, and two assists for the Lady Bulldogs and Kaitlind Horlacher had 10 digs and three aces.

Big 10

Amsterdam 3, Bishop Maginn 0

AMSTERDAM - Jordann Bernardo finished with six kills, three blocks and two aces to lead Amsterdam to a sweep over Bishop Maginn.

The Lady Rams won by scores of 25-7, 25-8 and 25-9.

Bayley Archinal posted six kills and one ace for Amsterdam (5-11 overall, 5-5 Big 10), while Destinee Smith recorded three kills and one ace.

Jordan Kelly posted five aces for the Lady Rams and Katie Ressel added nine assists, one kill and one ace.
