Cheers and jeers

October 6, 2012
The Leader Herald

JEERS - To vandals' stupidity. Heads should have been shaking in disbelief while reading a recent report that 18 street signs were stolen in the village and town of Mayfield. The thefts are another act of senseless vandalism - an act that could delay emergency vehicles from finding a residence. Replacing the signs would cost about $1,800. Mayfield Highway Superintendent Melvin Dopp said, "I don't have any clue why somebody would want to put people's lives in danger." Nether do we. We only hope the next report will be one about the thieves' arrests.
