JOHNSTOWN - Fulton-Montgomery Community College President Dustin Swanger will brief the Fulton County Board of Supervisors on two pending college union contracts at the board's meeting Tuesday at the County Office Building.
The meeting starts at 1 p.m. in the Supervisor's Chambers, and Swanger's presentation is slated for 1:30 p.m.
Swanger is listed on the board agenda as being on hand to "explain terms of proposed memorandums of agreement."
County Administrative Officer Jon Stead said Friday most of Swanger's presentation will probably be in a closed-door, executive session.
On the agenda for Tuesday's meeting, the board will consider two resolutions related to FMCC. One is to approve a new collective bargaining agreement between FMCC and its Buildings and Grounds Unit.
Stead said the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors has already approved the new deal with the Buildings and Grounds Unit and Fulton County's approval makes the contract final. He said information about the contract should be made public Tuesday.
Also on the agenda is a proposed resolution to approve a collective bargaining agreement between the college and its Educational Support Personnel Unit.
Stead said the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors still has to vote on the support unit contract.
Also pending are negotiations between FMCC and its faculty union - the Fulmont Association of College Educators, or FACE.
"I believe FACE starts up in two or three months," Stead said.
The last FACE contract was approved in February 2011 and it expired in August, 31, 2012. It carried 1.5 percent salary increase for college faculty members each of the past two years.
