AMSTERDAM-City police are investigating a stabbing that occured this morning on Wesleyan Avenue that left one man in need of emergency surgery.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle with three other individuals, according to Detective Lieutentant Kurt Conroy. The victim began arguing with one of the passengers. As the argument escalated, the suspect and the victim exited the vehicle and had a physical altercation. The victim returned to the vehicle, saying he had been stabbed.
The victim was driven to St. Mary's Hospital and was treated for multiple stab wounds. He was transferred to Albany Medical Center to undergo emergency surgery for his injuries.
Detectives are in the process of collecting evidence, conducting interviews with witnesses and attempting to locate the suspect, who remains at large.
The name of the suspect and victim are not being released at this time, police said.
