H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Gloversville sweeps Glens Falls

GLOVERSVILLE - Jenna Putnam had seven assists, four kills and four aces to lead Gloversville to a 3-0 sweep of Glens Falls in a Foothills Council match Wednesday.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-12, 25-12 and 25-12.

Christina Pavlovsky posted five assists for Gloversville (7-4 overall, 5-4 Foothills), while Katlyn Pierce posted five kills, three blocks and two aces. Ana Kroup finished with three kills and two aces for the Huskies.

South Glens Falls 3, Broadalbin-Perth 0

BROADALBIN - Jessica Trudeau had 11 service points and six kills to lead South Glens Falls to a sweep of Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council match.

The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19.

Shannon Higgins posted 11 kills and 10 points for South Glens Falls (7-4 overall, 5-4 Foothills), while Rachel Lumley finished with 13 kills. Jessica Miller registered six kills for the Bulldogs and Megan Woodell added 16 assists and eight points.

Chelsea LeBlanc had four kills and two blocks for Broadalbin-Perth (6-4 overall, 5-4 Foothills), while Regan Reed posted three assists and two digs. Caitlin Rasefske added three assists and three digs for the Lady Patriots.

Hudson Falls 3, Scotia-Glenville 1

SCOTIA - Tanner Barton had 15 points and eight kills to lead Hudson Falls to a 3-1 win over Scotia-Glenville.

The Tigers won by scores of 25-20, 25-22, 18-25 and 25-18.

Geneva Strong had 17 points for Hudson Falls (5-5 overall, 4-5 Foothills), while Katie Clouse added 15 assists and 13 points.

WAC

Mayfield 3, Canajoharie 0

CANAJOHARIE - Nicole Little had 13 service points, eight kills and three aces to lead Mayfield to a sweep of Canajoharie.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-16.

Karissa Morey finished with eight assists, six kills, five points and two aces for Mayfield (8-2 overall, 6-2 WAC), while Kaylee Bumpus posted six points, four kills and two aces. Bri Eagan finished with seven points and three digs for the Lady Panthers, Heather Carmen posted seven points and two aces, and Mackenzie Biggers added five digs.

Shyanna Logan recorded eight digs, five kills four points and two aces for Canajoharie (4-5 overall, 4-5 WAC), while Abbey Dearwester posted five points and three kills. Emma Stortecky registered 15 assists for the Lady Cougars, while Evangeline Wilcox posted five kills, four points and two blocks. Shelby Mead added four kills for Canajoharie and Rosemary Trahan posted seven digs.

Galway 3, Fort Plain 0

GALWAY - Rachel Jones had eight kills, four blocks and two service points to lead Galway to a sweep over Fort Plain.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-5, 25-16 and 25-4.

Adrianna Watrobski finished with 21 points, 10 assists and seven aces for Galway (10-1 overall, 7-1 WAC), while Brittany Orminski posted 12 points and six aces.

Hayley Martin posted 10 points, seven aces and six kills for the Golden Eagles, and Emily Orminski posted six kills, six assists and three points. Emily Zawisa added five points and three kills for Galway.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Mekeel Christian 0

BERNE - Gabriella Audino finished with 16 service points, 14 assists, 10 aces, five kills and three digs to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lady Bulldogs won by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-18.

Kaitlind Horlacher registered 12 digs, six points and three aces for BKW (7-5 overall, 5-3 WAC), while Erin McIntyre posted 14 points, eight aces, six kills, four digs and two blocks.

Janie Frank had six points, four kills and three assists for Mekeel Christian (1-9 overall), while Anne Nelson posted four assists and four kills.

Schoharie 3, Duanesburg 1

SCHOHARIE - Briana Borst finished with 20 service points and 15 kills to lead Schoharie to a win over Duanesburg.

The Indians lost the first game 29-27 before rallying to win the final three games by scores of 26-24, 25-18 and 25-18.

Allie Blyth added 15 kills for Schoharie (8-2 WAC).

Rebecca Gallup posted 16 digs, eight points, seven kills and four blocks for Duanesburg.
