Girls Soccer Roundup: Canajoharie improves to 10-0

SCOTIA - Kara Schwab finished with a goal and two assists to lead Canajoharie to a 5-1 win over Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Wednesday.

Brianna Slater, Melissa Bowley, Morgan Gray and Morgan Koelbl also scored for the Lady Cougars, who improved to 10-0 overall and 10-0 in WAC play.

The win also clinched the WAC Central Division crown for the Lady Cougars.

Jenelle Dillenbeck, Jordyn Logan and Ariannah Logan each had an assist for Canajoharie.

Lexie Holmes scored the lone goal for Mekeel Christian (3-4-2 WAC).

Lauren Balfe made four saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Lady Cougars.

Emily Taplin made 13 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Northville 3, St. Johnsville 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Veronica Arceri had a goal and an assist to lead Northville to a shutout win over St. Johnsville in a Western Athletic Conference contest.

Charlotte Kalkbrenner and Lindsey Wadsworth also scored for Northville (4-4-2 overall, 4-3-2 WAC), while Kelly VanNostrand added two assists.

The teams each finished with 13 shots.

Joanna Schulte made 11 saves to post the shutout win in goal for Northville.

Leann Knapp made eight stops for St. Johnsville (4-6 overall, 4-5 WAC).

Galway 4, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN - Kelly Phillips finished with two goals and an assist to power Galway to a WAC win over Fort Plain.

Erica Chase and Lexy Hennessy also scored for the Golden Eagles, while Maddy Moore, Shelby Suits, Felicia Snyder and Abby Spagnola each had an assist.

Kaitlin Trumbull scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (2-9 overall, 2-6 WAC), which dropped its eight straight game.

Rebekah Reichard made nine saves for Galway (9-2 overall, 8-1 WAC).

Jenna Barhydt (26 saves) and Mackenzie Stevens (2 saves) combined to make 28 stops for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Mayfield 4, Sharon Springs 1

MAYFIELD - Anna Husain scored twice and had an assist to lead Mayfield to a WAC win over Sharon Springs.

Julie Hampton and Hanna Cromie also scored for Mayfield (3-8 overall, 2-7 WAC), while Emily Cromie added an assist.

Samantha Jackson scored the lone goal for Sharon Springs (0-9 WAC).

Jennifer Little made four saves for the Lady Panthers, while Alexis VanArsdale made seven saves for the Spartans.

Big 10

Albany 5, Amsterdam 2

ALBANY - Cara Waterson finished with three goals and an assist to lead Albany to a overtime win over Amsterdam.

Hannah Moran posted a goal and an assist for the Lady Falcons, while Adrianna Guidetti also scored.

Mollie Kather and Erica Sicat each added an assist for Albany (7-3 overall, 5-1 Big 10).

Catie Fedullo and Carli Wheeler scored for Amsterdam (4-6-1 overall, 2-3 Big 10).

Emily Andrews made four saves for the Lady Falcons, while Cassandra Robataille finished with 12 saves for the Lady Rams.

Center State Conference

Herkimer 2, Dolgeville 2

HERKIMER - Emily Young scored twice for Dolgeville in a tie with Herkimer.

Courtney Rachon assisted on both goals for the Blue Devils.

Kathryn Woodrick scored both goals for Herkimer, while Caitlyn Roorda had an assist.

Kaylie Darling and Abigail Mosenthin combined to make 10 saves for Dolgeville (3-6-1 overall).

Chelsea Hory made six saves for Herkimer.
