Boys Soccer Roundup: Northville blanks St. Johnsville, 6-0

NORTHVILLE - Tyler Henderson finished with two goals and two assists to lead Northville to a 6-0 win over St. Johnsville in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Wednesday.

Brad VanNostrand posted two goals and two assists for the Falcons, who are 6-1-1 in their last eight contests. Keather Brooker and Lincoln Cramer also scored for Northville (6-3-1 overall, 5-3-1 WAC).

Tim Monette made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Falcons.

Rickey Jasewicz and Nate Trumble combined to make 14 saves for St. Johnsville (7-4 overall, 5-4 WAC).

Canajoharie 3, Mekeel Christian 2

CANAJOHARIE - Michael Mazzarella scored with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to lift Canajoharie to a WAC win over previously unbeaten Mekeel Christian Academy.

Zach Bowerman had a goal and an assist for the Cougars, while Taylor Fleig also scored.

It was the third straight win for the Cougars.

Kenny Aderounmu scored twice for Mekeel Christian (8-1 overall, 7-1 WAC).

Chris Deyette made 18 saves for Canajoharie (4-7 overall, 3-6 WAC), which was outshot 23-11.

Rhain Zeronda made 10 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Fort Plain 2, Galway 0

GALWAY - Will Logan had a goal and an assist to lead Fort Plain to a shutout win over previously unbeaten Galway in a WAC contest.

Joe Ray also scored for the Hilltoppers, while Marcus Failing added an assist.

Chris Hanifin made 10 saves for Fort Plain (7-2-2 overall, 6-1-2 WAC).

Evan Ceroalo made seven saves for Galway (8-1 overall, 7-1 WAC).

Mayfield 9, Sharon Springs 1

SHARON SPRINGS - Dylan Toscano finished with hat trick and an assist to power Mayfield to a lopsided win over Sharon Springs in a WAC contest.

Jordan Ryder scored twice for the Panthers, while Brandon Smith added a goal and three assists.

Colden Glover registered a goal and an assist for Mayfield (7-3 overall, 6-3 WAC), while Matt Messina added a goal and an assist,

Todd Briggs also scored for the Panthers, while Tyler Yacano had an assist.

Mayfield, which outshot Sharon Springs 30-5, outscored the Spartans 7-0 in the second half.

After an 0-3 start, the Panthers have won seven straight games.

Ryan Hennessy posted four saves to earn the win in goal for Mayfield.

Evan Winnie made 14 saves for Sharon Springs (0-10 overall, 0-9 WAC).
