Boys Soccer Roundup: B-P rolls past Queensbury

QUEENSBURY - Ben Bellandi had two goals and three assists to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 7-1 win over Queensbury in a Foothills Council boys soccer game Tuesday.

Tucker Wilcox and Justin Marek each had a goal and an assist for the Patriots, while Francesco Mastrocinque also scored.

A.J. Klemczak and Logan Ackley each had an assist for B-P (8-2-1 overall, 6-1-1 Foothills), which outshot Queensbury 21-10.

Kade Kirby scored the lone goal for Queensbury (3-8-1 overall, 3-5 Foothills).

Matt Myers made five saves for Broadalbin-Perth.

Patrick O'Mara made six stops for Queensbury.

Scotia-Glenville 7, Gloversville 2

SCOTIA - Eric Denny and Owen Fingar each scored two goals to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Gloversville,

Denny also finished with three assists for the Tartans.

Dennis Turner had a goal and an assist for Scotia-Glenville (11-0 overall, 8-0 Foothills), while Michael Fraoli and Country Moran also scored. Kettrick Bailey added an assist for the Tartans.

Thomas Kirk scored both goals for Gloversville (2-7 overall, 2-6 Foothills), while C.J. DeVito had an assist.

South Glens Falls 4, Johnstown 1

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - After a scoreless first half, South Glens Falls scored four times in the second half on its way to a win over Johnstown.

Rick Buser scored twice for the Bulldogs, while Luke Vandixhorn had a goal and two assists. Blake Snyder added a goal and an assist for South Glens Falls (7-3-1 overall, 5-2-1 Foothills).

Brandon Spaid scored the lone goal for Johnstown (3-6 overall, 1-6 Foothills).

Andy Camarra made eight saves for the Sir Bills, while Evan Brooks made one save for the Bulldogs.

Colonial Council

Mechanicville 2, Fonda-Fultonville 0

FONDA - Mike Cannizzo and Isaac Haner scored second-half goals to lead Mechanicville to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Brady Scott and Eric Krasuski each had an assist for Mechanicville (2-7-1 overall, 2-5-1 Colonial).

Caleb Foard made seven saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Red Raiders.

Tyler Folmsbee made 17 saves for Fonda-Fultonville (2-7 overall, 2-6 Colonial).

Big 10

Amsterdam 2,

Catholic Central 0

TROY - Connor Kilgallen and Taliq Sims scored to lead Amsterdam to a shutout win over Catholic Central.

Nick Caruso and Anthony Stewart each had an assist for the Rams (5-4-1 overall, 3-3-1 Big 10).

Northern Soccer League

Minerva-Newcomb 5, Wells 1

WELLS - Jorge Bertomeu finished with two goals and an assist to lead Minerva-Newcomb to a win over Wells.

Wesley LaBar also scored twice for the Mountaineers, while Riley Mather also added a goal. Mickey Johnson registered an assist for Minerva-Newcomb.

Jake Earley scored the lone goal for Wells on a penalty kicks.

Alex Ruzbacki made four saves to earn the win in goal for the Mountaineers.

Ben Brenan made 13 stops for Wells (3-5 overall).

On Friday, Wells posted a 6-1 win at Indian Lake-Long Lake.

Earley and Levi Colson each had two goals for the Indians, while Seth Weaver added a goal and two assists. Matt Michienzi also scored for Wells, while Caleb Hayes and Kenny Chicoski each registered an assist.

Shane Short scored the lone goal for Indian Lake-Long Lake on a penalty kick.

Brenan made 11 saves for Wells, while Thomas Torrens made 13 stops for the Orange.

Non-league

Glens Falls 3, Schenectady 0

SCHENECTADY - Tanner Sax scored twice to lead Glens Falls to a win over Schenectady.

Heath Armstrong also scored for the Indians, while Clark Wooley and Heath Armstrong each had an assist.

Gabe Alagna made six saves to post the shutout win in goal for Glens Falls (2-8 overall).

Andrew Cyr made four saves for Schenectady (3-3-3 overall).
