H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Mayfield sweeps Mekeel Christian

SCOTIA - Miranda Eagan had five kills, three assists and an ace to lead Mayfield to a 3-0 sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Monday.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-16.

Kiera Davis posted eight service points and two kills for Mayfield (7-2 overall, 5-2 WAC), while Kaylee Bumpus added six points and two kills.

Jacqueline Cummings had 12 points and one block for Mekeel Christian (1-9 overall, 1-8 WAC).

Fort Plain 3, Middleburgh 1

FORT PLAIN - Emily Potter had 14 service points and seven kills to lead Fort Plain to a win over Middleburgh.

The Lady Hilltoppers won by scores of 25-17, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-21.

Cheyanne Walters finished with points for Fort Plain (2-7 overall, 1-7 WAC) (1-5, 2-5), while Shawna Colton had 20 assists, 13 points and five aces. Brandy Walters posted five aces for the Lady Hilltoppers, Nicole Bouchard registered five kills and Elizabeth Hubbard added three kills.

Shania Marotta had 10 kills for Middleburgh, while Shyla Hinkley had six blocks and five kills.

Saratoga Catholic 3, Schoharie 1

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Meghan Mensler finished with 14 service points, nine digs and three aces to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Schoharie.

The Saints won by scores of 25-13, 15-25, 25-16 and 25-17.

Natalie Pikus posted 10 kills, six blocks, five points and three aces for Saratoga Catholic (7-2 overall, 6-1 WAC), while Erin Thornton finished with 15 points, seven digs and three aces.

Meghan McDonough posted eight assists and six points for the Saints, and Liza Orsini added nine points and four assists.

Sierra Diamond finished with 12 points seven assists and an ace for Schoharie, while Ally Blyth posted 11 points and seven kills.

Non-league

Gloversville 3, Amsterdam 1

AMSTERDAM - Christina Pavlovsky had 10 assists to help Gloversville to a non-league win over Amsterdam.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-8, 25-7 and 22-17. The final game was stopped before its conclusion due to injury.

Jenna Putnam had seven aces for Gloversville (6-4 overall), while Alex Bielli had three kills. Katlyn Pierce added three blocks for the Huskies.

Amsterdam slipped to 2-9 overall with the loss.
