H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Johnstown gets past Broadalbin-Perth

JOHNSTOWN - Zara Hyde finished with 17 digs, 12 assists, 12 service points and six kills to lead Johnstown to a 3-1 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council volleyball match Friday.

Johnstown lost the first game 26-24 before rallying to win the final three games by scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-23.

Annie Stock registered 13 kills and 12 digs for Johnstown (8-1 overall, 7-1 Foothills), while Elizabeth Hayward posted 21 digs.

Hannah Breda finished with eight kills for the Lady Bills and Alyssa Nellis had six kills and three blocks.

Caitlin Rasefske finished with nine digs and eight assists for Broadalbin-Perth (6-3 overall, 5-3 Foothills), while Maddie Gurga piled up 17 digs, five assists, three kills, two aces and two blocks.

Chelsea LeBlanc posted five blocks and four kills for the Lady Patriots, while Allison Lysiak added five kills and two digs.

Gloversville 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

SCOTIA - Jenna Putnam finished with 13 assists and nine aces to lead Gloversville to a sweep of Scotia-Glenville.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-12.

Katlyn Pierce registered 12 kills and eight blocks for Gloversville (5-4 overall, 4-4 Foothills), while Alex Bielli posted three kills.


Canajoharie 3, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH - Evangeline Wilcox had nine service points, four aces and a block to lead Canajoharie to a sweep of Middleburgh.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 26-24, 25-10 and 25-22.

Shyanna Logan posted six digs and five kills for Canajoharie (4-4 overall, 4-4 WAC), while Gracie Adams posted 10 service points.

Emma Stortecky finished with 13 assists for the Lady Cougars and Jodi Streath had five kills. Abbey Dearwester added four aces for Canajoharie and Madison Herrick posted four digs.

Lenna Pigott posted eight kills for Middleburgh and Emma VanAller had eight assists. Jenna Brown finished with four aces and Shyla Hinkley posted four blocks.

Mayfield 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1

BERNE - Nicole Little finished with 11 service points, seven kills, five digs, three blocks and three aces to power Mayfield to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Lady Panthers lost the first game 25-19 before regrouping to win the final three by scores of 25-28, 25-20 and 25-15.

Miranda Eagan posted 10 points, seven assists, five aces and a block for Mayfield (6-2 overall, 4-2 WAC), while Karissa Morey added seven assists, seven points, five kills and three aces.

Gabriella Audino finished with 21 assists, 11 digs, six kills and two aces for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (4-4 overall, 3-3 WAC), while Danielle Hubbard posted 12 kills, 10 digs and two blocks.

Erin McIntyre recorded 12 digs, four aces, two blocks and two kills for the Bulldogs, while Kaitlind Horlacher added 12 digs and three aces.

Schoharie 3, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN - Emily Pieniazek posted 26 service points and three aces to lead Schoharie to a win over Fort Plain.

The Indians won by scores of 20-25, 25-6, 25-13 and 25-21.

Alli Blyth finished with 16 kills for Schoharie (7-1 WAC), while Sierra Diamond posted 18 assists.

Cheyanne Walters finished with nine points, three digs and two aces for Fort Plain (0-7 overall, 0-7 WAC), while Shawna Cotton posted 13 points and seven assists. Nicole Bouchard added 10 points and two kills for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Galway 3, Duanesburg 0

GALWAY - Emily Zawisa posted 15 service points, seven kills and five aces to lead Galway to a sweep of Duanesburg.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-12.

Emily Orminski posted 10 assists, six points, six aces and two kills for Galway (8-1 overall, 6-1 WAC), while Rachel Jones posted nine points, four kills, two aces and a block.

Hayley Martin added six kills and four points for the Golden Eagles.

Rachel Gamache posted six points, four assists and three kills to lead Duanesburg (4-3 WAC), while Rebecca Gallup finished with four digs and three kills. Taylor Martineau added eight digs for Duanesburg.
