Boys Soccer Roundup: Dragons record second straight victory

QUEENSBURY - After going winless in its first six contests, Gloversville posted its second straight shutout win, edging Glens Falls, 1-0, in a Foothills Council boys soccer game at Morse Athletic Complex on Friday.

C.J. DeVito scored the game's lone goal for the Dragons on an assist from Mike Briceno.

Nick Cirillo made 13 saves to post the shutout win in goal for Gloversville (2-6 overall, 2-5 Foothills).

Gabe Alagna made eight stops for Glens Falls (1-8 overall, 1-6 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville 6, Queensbury 0

QUEENSBURY - Eric Denny had two goals and an assist to lead Scotia-Glenville to a shutout win over Queensbury.

Dennis Turner also scored twice for the Tartans, while Country Moran had a goal and an assist.

Adam Ashcroft made one save to post the shutout win in goal for Scotia-Glenville (10-0 overall, 7-0 Foothills).

Pat O'Mara made five stops for Queensbury (3-7 overall, 3-4 Foothills).

WAC

Mayfield 3, Northville 2 (OT)

MAYFIELD - An own goal by Northville lifted Mayfield to an overtime win in a Western Athletic Conference contest.

Dylan Toscano scored both goals in regulation for the Panthers, while Jordan Ryder and Eric Wilcox each had an assist.

Tyler Henderson and Brad VanNostrand scored for Northville, while David Onzo had two assists.

Ryan Hennessy made three saves for Mayfield (5-3 overall, 4-3 WAC).

Tim Monette made eight saves for Northville (4-3-1 overall, 3-3-1 WAC).

Fort Plain 1, Middleburgh 1

FORT PLAIN - Will Logan scored the lone goal for Fort Plain in a tie with Middleburgh.

Sean Green scored for Middleburgh on an assist from Austin Roney.

Chris Hanifin made 13 saves for Fort Plain (6-2-2 overall, 5-1-2 WAC), which outshot the Knights 17-14.

Nick Righi finished with 11 saves for Middleburgh (2-5-1 WAC).

Schoharie 4, Sharon Springs 0

SCHOHARIE - James Sacket scored twice to lead Schoharie to a shutout win over Sharon Springs.

Chris O'Neill and Will Vedder also scored for the Indians.

Justin Montione made seven saves to post the shutout win in goal for Schoharie (4-3-1 WAC).

Vernon Kennedy and Kevin Lockenwitz combined to make six saves for Sharon Springs (0-8 WAC).
