FONDA - A man who robbed an Amsterdam gas station in April pleaded guilty Wednesday, according to the office of Montgomery County District Attorney James "Jed" Conboy.
Desnen W. Brown, 30, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery in connection with the holdup that occurred April 26.
According to Conboy's office, Brown went into the Pit Stop gas station at 170 Church St., where he displayed a sharp object at the register before taking an undisclosed amount of money.
Brown will be sentenced on Nov. 26 and will receive seven years in state prison. He also will face five years of post-release supervision and have to pay $600 to his victims.
In a separate case, Richard J. Rivenburg, 40, of Round Top, pleaded guilty to felony DWI stemming from an incident June 21 in Amsterdam.
At his sentencing Nov. 27, he is expected to receive five years of probation with drug court and have to pay a $2,000 fine.
