Girls Soccer Roundup: Queensbury shuts out Lady Patriots

QUEENSBURY - Brittany LaPlant scored four goals, leading Queensbury to a 6-0 Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Catherine Hand had a goal and an assist for Queensbury (6-2 overall, 5-2 Foothills Council) and Aleya Rodriguez had a goal. Danielle Taormino had two assists, while Clair Hubbs, Micaela O'Mara each had one assist. Sarah O'Brien made eight saves.

Rachel Orapello made 11 saves for the Lady Patriots (6-2 overall, 5-2 Foothills Council).

Foothills Council

Glens Falls 3, Johnstown 1

JOHNSTOWN - Miranda Haraughty scored two goals, leading Glens Falls past Johnstown.

Skylar Girard also scored a goal for the Lady Indians (4-5 overall, 3-4 Foothills Council) and Hayley Flower made nine saves.

Megan Anagnostopulos scored a goal for Johnstown (2-6 overall, 2-5 Foothills Council) and Ellen Praught made five saves.

South Glens Falls 3, Scotia-Glenville 1

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Sam Blizzard and Sami Hubinsky each had a goal and an assist as the Lady Bulldogs handed Scotia-Glenville its first loss of the season.

Taylor Pechtel added a goal for South Glens Falls (8-1 overall, 6-1 Foothills Council) and Amy Jagareski had five saves.

Sophie Constantino scored a goal off an assist from Max Culhane for the Lady Tartans (7-1 overall, 6-1 Foothills Council). Carina Moran made five saves.

Colonial Council

Albany Academy 5, Fonda-Fultonville 2

FONDA - Emma Hardy scored three goals, leading Albany Academy to a win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Valerie Taylor added two goals for the Cadets (5-2 overall, 5-2 Colonial Council) and Anna Bryce made two saves.

Cassandra Egelston had scored two goals for the Lady Braves (1-7 overall, 1-7 Colonial Council) and Ashley Hulbert made six saves.

Big 10

Catholic Central 3, Amsterdam 0

TROY - Alexis Rifflebach scored two goals as Catholic Central shut out Amsterdam.

Annette Volpe added a goal and Madison Purcell had two assists for the Lady Crusaders (8-0 overall, 4-0 Big 10). Katie Sullivan made seven saves.

Cassandra Robataille made 22 saves for the Lady Rams (3-5-1 overall, 1-2-1 Big 10).

Center State Conference

Morrisville-Eaton 5, Dolgeville 2

DOLGEVILLE - Jessie Murray scored three goals, leading Morrisville-Eaton to a win over Dolgeville.

Sara Collier and Brooke Brown each added goals for Morrisville-Eaton (5-3 overall, 4-2 CSC) and Shelby Brown made eight saves.

Ashley Mettler scored two goals for Dolgeville (3-5 overall, 1-3 CSC) and Kaylie Darling made six saves.

Western Athletic Conference

Galway 2, Schoharie 0

SCHOHARIE - Kelly Phillips and Erica Chase each had a goal and an assist leading Galway over Schoharie.

Lindsey Naughton made 21 saves for Galway (7-2 overall, 6-1 WAC).

Lindsey Vanier and Kassidee VanGasbeck each made eight saves for Schoharie (4-4 overall, 4-4 WAC).
