Girls Soccer Roundup: Canajoharie blanks BKW, 3-0

CANAJOHARIE - Jenelle Dillenbeck had two goals and an assist to power Canajoharie to a 3-0 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer game Wednesday.

Brianna Slater also scored for the Lady Cougars, while Melissa Bowley and Morgan Gray each had an assist.

"It was a very fast-paced, physical game," Canajoharie coach Ellee Fichthorn said. "I am proud of these young ladies."

Lauren Balfe made five saves to post the shutout win in goal for Canajoharie, which improved to 8-0 overall and 8-0 in WAC play.

Liz Harvey made 15 saves for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (6-1-1 overall, 6-1-1 WAC).

St. Johnsville 1, Mayfield 0

MAYFIELD - Skyler Viveros scored the game's lone goal with 22:26 remaining in the second half to lead St. Johnsville to a win over Mayfield.

Leann Knapp made 13 saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Saints (3-4 overall, 3-4 WAC).

Jennifer Little made 15 stops for Mayfield (2-7 overall, 1-6 WAC).

Mekeel Christian 3, Duanesburg 0

DUANESBURG - Macie Holmes, Lizzie Bath and Lexie Holmes scored to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a shutout win over Duanesburg.

Emily Taplin made eight saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Mekeel Christian (3-3-1 WAC).

Amanda Goodwin and Nicole Cassale combined to make 11 saves for Duanesburg (1-6 WAC).
