Field Hockey Roundup: Lady Bills blank Tartans

SCOTIA - Ashley Dona finished with three goals and an assist to power Johnstown to an 8-0 win over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council field hockey contest Tuesday.

Hope Cerasuolo added two goals and an assist for the Lady Bills, while Emma Heroth posted a goal and an assist.

Alexis Swatt and Carissa O'Brien also scored for Johnstown (6-1 overall, 6-0 Foothills), while Kelsi Barnholt had two assists.

Johnstown finished with a 14-1 advantage in penalty corners and a 20-1 edge in shots.

Alyssa Pertell made one save to post the shutout win in goal for Johnstown, while Vanessa Walker made 12 stops for the Tartans.

South Glens Falls 2, Gloversville 0

GLOVERSVILLE - Emily Sharpe scored both goals to lead South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council contest.

Olivia Higgins registered an assist for the Bulldogs, who outshot the Huskies 21-6.

Michelle Regner made five saves to post the shutout win in goal for South Glens Falls.

Bailey Pieniazek made 15 saves for Gloversville (2-6 overall, 2-4 Foothills).

Queensbury 2, Glens Falls 1

QUEENSBURY - Maddie Nelson and Beth Yarze scored to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council win over Glens Falls.

Courtney Jenkins and Christie Raymond each had an assist for the Spartans, who improved to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in Foothills play.

Olivia Southworth scored the lone goal for Glens Falls on an assist from Shea Homer.

Christina Galatioto made four saves for Queensbury.

Haylee Mello made one saves for Glens Falls (2-6 overall).
