Girls Soccer Roundup: Queensbury blanks Gloversville

QUEENSBURY - Brittany LaPlant had four goals and an assist to power Queensbury to an 8-0 Foothills Council win over Gloversville on Monday

Catherine Hand scored twice for the Spartans, while Taylor Clarke and Claire Hubbs also scored.

Aleya Rodriguez and Katie Shevlin each had two assists for Queensbury (4-2 Foothills).

Alexis Capasso made 17 saves for Gloversville (0-7 overall, 0-6 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville 9, Hudson Falls 0

SCOTIA - Sophie Contantino scored three goals to lead Scotia-Glenville to a shutout win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council.

Max Culhane scored twice for Scotia-Glenville (7-0 overall, 6-0 Foothills), while Morgan Bailey, Grace Marola, Abby O'Connor and Ceci Hyland also scored.

Nicole Sheloski made 25 saves for Hudson Falls.

South Glens Falls 9, Glens Falls 3

QUEENSBURY - Sammy Blizzard scored four times to lead South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Glens Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Paige Howk posted two goals for the Bulldogs, while Lexi Potter had a goal and an assist.

Shannon Curley and Kasey O'Brien also scored for South Glens Falls (7-1 overall, 5-1 Foothills), while Carly Weller finished with two assists.

Miranda Haraughty scored twice for Glens Falls (3-5 overall, 2-4 Foothills), while Megan Kanofsky had a goal and an assist.

WAC

Mekeel Christian 4, Fort Plain 0

SCOTIA - Macie Holmes scored three goals to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a shutout win over Fort Plain.

Lindsay McCarty also scored for Mekeel Christian on an assist from Holmes. Nicole Berratarie also added an assist for Mekeel Christian.

Emily Taplin made six saves to post the shutout win in goal for Mekeel Christian.

Jenna Barhydt made four saves for Fort Plain (2-7 overall, 2-5 WAC).

Canajoharie 3, Northville 0

CANAJOHARIE - Jenelle Dillenbeck had two goals and an assist for Canajoharie in a shutout win over Northville.

Morgan Koelbl also scored for the Lady Cougars, while Arie Logan and Morgan Gray each had an assist.

Lauren Balfe made eight saves to post the shutout win in goal for Canajoharie (7-0 overall, 6-0 WAC).

Joanna Schulte registered 13 saves for Northville (3-2-2 overall, 3-2-2 WAC).

Galway 4, Sharon Springs 0

SHARON SPRINGS - Kelly Phillips scored twice to lead Galway to a shutout win over Sharon Springs.

Erica Chase and Abby Spagnola also scored for the Golden Eagles, while Shelby Suits had two assists. Lexy Hennessy added an assist for Galway (6-1 overall, 5-1 WAC).

Rebekah Reichard and Lindsey Naughton combined to make three saves to share the shutout win in goal for the Golden Eagles.

Alexis VanArsdale and Rory Byrnes combined to make 16 saves for Sharon Springs (1-8 overall, 0-7 WAC).

Middleburgh 2, Schoharie 0

SCHOHARIE - Amanda Roney and Taylor Cater scored to lead Middleburgh to a shutout win over Schoharie.

Megan Hagadorn made seven saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Knights (6-3 overall, 5-2 WAC).

Lindsey Vanier made 10 saves for Schoharie.

Non-league

Amsterdam 0, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

AMSTERDAM - Cassandra Robataille made five saves for Amsterdam in a scoreless draw with Berne-Knox-Westerlo at Lynch Literacy Academy.

Amsterdam (2-4-1 overall) will host Schenectady today at 4:30 p.m.
