H.S. Golf Roundup: Johnstown defeats Gloversville

JOHNSTOWN - Jerry Groom carded an even-par round of 35 to lead Johnstown to a 157-171 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council golf match at Fox Run Golf Club on Monday.

Chris Geleta posted a 35 for the Sir Bills, while Josh Brown registered a 39.

Richie Lee added a 46 for Johnstown.

Josh Fonda paced Gloversville with a 39, while Kevin Johnston posted a 43.

James Snyder recorded a 43 for the Huskies and Mike Priolo finished with a 46.

Johnstown (9-5 overall, 8-5 Foothills) will host Amsterdam on Wednesday in a non-league match at Fox Run at 4 p.m.

Scotia-Glenville 154, Broadalbin-Perth 166

SCHENECTADY - Mitch Forshey carded a 35 to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth at Stadium Golf Club.

David Renko posted a 37 for the Tartans, while Mike Dwyer registered a 40. Mick McCloskey added a 42 for Scotia-Glenville.

Cody Husek and Alex Bond each finished with rounds of 40 to lead Broadalbin-Perth, while Brett Getman added a 42. Brent Bochenek posted a 44 for the Patriots.

Colonial Council

Fonda-Fultonville 170, Mechanicville 188

FORT JOHNSON - Luke Calkins carded a three-over par 38 to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a win over Mechanicville at Rolling Hills Country Club.

Alex Wallace, Tony Angioli and Justin Galusha all finished with rounds of 44 for the Braves, while Jack Mulyca posted a 49.

David Anderson finished with a 60 for FFCS.

Nico Dumas posted a 41 to lead Mechanicville, while Matt Waldron posted a 45.

Eammon Higgins and Evan DeCastro each finished with rounds of 51 for the Red Raiders, while Josh Heller posted a 52. Joe Papura added a 56 for Mechanicville.
