Wake up, National Grid customers, and demand answers about your utility bills.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel like we're being raked over by the Big Conglomerate Co. For the life of me, I don't understand why we pay so much more for utilities, especially in an economically depressed area, than those in the lower counties of the state.
I've been living in my small, two-bedroom house for more than 17 years and have always kept my usage low - but the prices keep climbing.
Could someone please explain to me what the hell the delivery charges are about? They are almost twice as much as my actual usage.
Recently I was talking to my sister, who lives in Putnam County. She has New York State Electric & Gas. She also has a much bigger home than I do, runs two air conditioners all the time and has a pool. Her highest bill this hot summer was $100.
What's wrong with this picture.? She never heard about delivery charges and doesn't have them.
If more of us started squawking about this issue, maybe something could be done about it.
