Mayfield, Amsterdam record volleyball wins

FORT PLAIN - Miranda Eagan turned in a strong performance to lead Mayfield to a sweep of host Fort Plain Thursday.

The Lady Panthers (5-1 overall, 3-1 WAC) won on game scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-15.

Eagan recorded 14 service points, three aces, eight kills, three blocks and seven assists for Mayfield. Nicole Little added seven kills and 11 service points, while Bailey Ward contributed 10 services points and six assists. Karissa Morey had 11 service points and Taylor Gifford added seven digs for Mayfield.

Shawna Cotton paced the Lady Hilltoppers (1-4 overall, 1-3 WAC) with seven service points, three digs and an ace. Elizabeth Hubbard had four service points and an ace, while Brandy Walters had three digs.

Both teams will participate in the Western Athletic Conference tournament Saturday.

Amsterdam 3, Catholic Central 1

TROY - Amsterdam improved its league record to 2-3 defeating Catholic Central on game scores of 25-11, 16-25, 25-22 and 25-23.

Bayley Archinal recorded eight kills and three blocks for the Lady Rams,while Jordan Bernardo had seven kills, a block and an ace and Katie Ressel added nine assists, five aces and two kills.

Fonda-Fultonville 0

RAVENA - The Lady Indians improved their league record to 7-0 on game scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-11.

Katie Beswick led RCS with 16 points and 19 assists, while Chelsea McMillen contributed eight kills and 10 digs.

Taylor Wetsky led Fonda-Fultonville (4-5 overall, 3-4 Colonial) with five kills, six service points and three aces.
