QUEENSBURY - The Johnstown Lady Bills rallied from a 1-0 first-half deficit to defeat Queensbury 2-1 in overtime for the Foothills Council field hockey victory Thursday at Queensbury High School.
Christie Raymond finished off an assist from Katie Zilka early in the match to put the Lady Spartans up 1-0 at the half.
Hope Cerasuolo deposited a pass from Emma Heroth into the cage to tie the match with 8:09 remaining to send the match into overtime.
Heroth collected the game-winner with 6:09 remaining in the first overtime when she finished an assist from Ashley Dona to keep the Lady Bills' league record perfect at 5-0.
Johnstown held a 23 to 6 edge in shots on goal and 18 to 6 in penalty corners.
Alyssa Pertell made four saves in goal for Johnstown (5-1 overall, 5-0 Foothills), while Christina Galatioto had 20 stops for Queensbury (4-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills).
GLOVERSVILLE - Whytne Stover finished an assist from Sarah Lebel with 1:36 left in the opening half and the Huskies played strong defense to record their second Foothills Council win of the season.
Gloversville (2-4 overall, 2-3 Foothills) out shot Scotia-Glenville 13 to 11. Lady Tartans goalkeeper Vanaessa Walker recorded 10 saves, while Bailey Pieniazek made 11 stops in goal for the Huskies.
Gloversville will travel to play Schuylerville today in a non-league match.
