Johnson competing for SUNY Cobleskill

ONEONTA - The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team posted a team score of 119 points to place fifth in a field of 11 teams at the Airfield Invitational hosted by SUNY Oneonta at Fortin Park in Oneonta on Saturday. The race marked the first 6,000-meter event of the year for the Fighting Tigers.

Sophomore Rebekah Johnson, an Amsterdam graduate, continued her strong season by placing 10th overall in the field of 97 runners with a time of 23:57 the fasted time ever recorded by a SUNY Cobleskill female runner in a 6,000-meter race.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action this Saturday when they travel to Newburgh for the 2012 Knight Invitational hosted by Mount Saint Mary College at Chadwick State Park beginning at 11 a.m.
