Nancy L. Hisert, 70, of Fourth Street, Northville, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at home following a long illness. She was born in Northville, N.Y., on October 23, 1941, the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Emily Gifford Weaver. She was a graduate of Northville Central School and a graduate of the Nathan Littauer School of Nursing in Gloversville in 1962. She then was a graduate of Barrington College in Barrington, Rhode Island, in 1963.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse for over forty years at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, serving in many capacities, including: Critical Care Nurse, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nurse Manager, Supervisor Critical Care and Head Nurse Critical Care. She was a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
She loved her job because every day was a new experience. She felt that all the money in the world could not repay her for helping someone in need.
She was a lifetime area resident, a member of the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, sang in may local choruses and loved attending Wells sporting events (Nu Nu).
Survivors include her sister, Grace Morrison of Wells; two nieces, Stephanie and her husband, Ken Hoffman of Wells and Mindy Morrison of Wells; one great-niece and nephew, James and Shelby Hoffman.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at the Northville Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville. Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry in Northville or Mayfield or the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville.
