Boys Soccer Roundup: St. JOE boys win tourney title

SCHOHARIE - St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah scored twice in each half to post a 4-1 win over host Schoharie in the championship game of the Schoharie Tournament on Saturday.

Brandon Campione and Kyle Smith each had a goal and an assist for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah (5-1 overall), while Tristan Engle and Johnny Vicciarelli also scored.

Devan Battisti added an assist for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah.

Tanner Stone scored the lone goal for Schoharie.

Rickey Jasewicz made four saves for St. Johnsville/Oppenheim-Ephratah.

Mayfield Tournament

MAYFIELD - Dylan Toscano had a hat trick and an assist to lead Mayfield to a 5-1 win over Waterford-Halfmoon in the opening round of the Mayfield Tournament.

Jordan Ryder had a goal and an assist for the Panthers, while Josh Ivancic also scored.

Kyle Elliott scored the lone goal for Waterford, which was outshot by a 15-3 margin.

Lucas VanNostrand and Ryan Hennessy combined to make two saves for Mayfield (1-2 overall).

Matt Rebel made 10 saves for the Fordians.

In the other first-round game, Catholic Central posted a 2-1 win over Middleburgh.

Mayfield will face Catholic Central in the championship game Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., while Middleburgh will face Waterford-Halfmoon in the consolation game at 5 p.m. on Oct. 13.
