Golfers competing at Sage College

COBLESKILL - The Sage College's men's golf team opened the 2012 season Thursday at the Fighting Tiger Invitational, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill.

For the third straight year, Sage posted the best score at the event to take home the team championship title. The event was held at the par-70/6,163-yard Cobleskill Golf & Country Club.

The hosts fell one shot short of the tournament champions, the Gators from The Sage Colleges from Troy, who posted a winning round of 320 for the tournament.

The Gators were led by senior Shane Kiselis, an Amsterdam graduate, who fired a round of 78 to tie for second.

Sage junior Richie Christman, a Johnstown graduate, finished tied for eighth place after shooting an 82 for the round.

Rounding out the Gator scorers was freshman D.J. Ioele, a Johnstown graduate, who placed 20th overall with a round of 91.
