MAYFIELD - Village officials lifted the boil water advisory Friday morning, five days after a break in the village's water main that led to the closing of Mayfield schools for three days.
The advisory was put into effect Sunday after the village's water pressure significantly decreased.
Officials discovered the cause of the problem around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, finding a break in the main at the Woodside Avenue and Green Street intersection.
The break also affected several businesses in the village, causing them to close.
