H.S. Volleyball Roundup: South Glens Falls tops Gloversville

GLOVERSVILLE - After losing the first game 25-14, South Glens Falls rallied to win the next three by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-19 to post a 3-1 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council match on Wednesday.

Rachel Lumley had 18 kills and 14 service points for South Glens Falls (1-2 overall, 1-2 Foothills), while Shannon Higgins had eight kills. Megan Woodell added 14 assists and 15 points for the Bulldogs.

Jenna Putnam had 18 assists and 12 points for Gloversville (2-1 overall, 2-1 Foothills), while Katlyn Pierce had 10 points, seven blocks and five kills. Chelsey Biasini added seven kills and three digs for the Huskies.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Hudson Falls 0

BROADALBIN - Chelse LeBlanc had four kills, three blocks and two digs to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a sweep of Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council match.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-18.

Regan Reed posted five aces and two digs for B-P (2-1 overall, 2-1 Foothills), while Maddie Gurga finished with four aces, two assists and two kills.

Katie Clouse had five assists, five digs, two kills and two aces for Hudson Falls, while Kacey Rosenblum added eight kills.

Queensbury 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

SCOTIA - Jenna Bureau registered 11 kills and six digs to lead Queensbury to a sweep of Scotia-Glenville.

The Lady Spartans won by scores of 25-14, 25-22 and 25-14.

Sarah McMahon posted six kills and four blocks for Queensbury (3-0 overall, 3-0 Foothills), while Brooke Meader finished with 23 assists and five aces.

Callie Goffin had 10 assists and five kills to lead Scotia-Glenville (0-3 overall, 0-3 Foothills), while Bianca Bustamante added four digs and two kills.

WAC

Saratoga Catholic 3, Mayfield 2

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Sierra Matthews had 19 digs, 12 service points and three aces to lead Saratoga Catholic to a win over Mayfield.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 24-26, 25-15, 24-26, 25-19 and 25-17.

Meghan McDonough added 17 points, 14 assists and five aces for Saratoga Catholic (3-0 overall , 3-0 WAC), while Natalie Pikus registered 17 kills, 12 digs and six blocks. Erin Thornton added 18 digs, eight points, seven kills and three aces for the Lady Saints.

Bailey Ward's had eight kills and two blocks to lead Mayfield (2-1 overall, 1-1 WAC), while Karissa Morey had eight assists and three kills. Nicole Little finished with eight points and two aces for the Lady Panthers, while Miranda Eagan had three blocks and three kills. Kaylee Bumpus had four kills for Mayfield and Mackenzie Biggers finished with nine points.

Canajoharie 3, Fort Plain 1

CANAJOHARIE - Shyanna Logan had 14 service points, 13 aces and three kills to lead Canajoharie to a win over Fort Plain.

The Cougars won by scores of 25-20, 25-18, 21-25 and 25-21.

Emma Stortecky had 16 assists, 12 points and five aces for Canajoharie (2-1 overall, 2-1 WAC), while Madison Herrick posted four digs. Evangeline Wilcox and Abbey Dearwester each finished with five kills for the Cougars.

Nicole Bouchard had six points, three kills and three aces for Fort Plain (0-3 overall, 0-3 WAC), while Shawna Cotton had six points and four aces. Emily Potter added two kills for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Duanesburg 3, Middleburgh 2

MIDDLEBURGH - Rachel Gamache had 13 service points, eight kills and eight assist to lead Duanesburg to a win over Middleburgh.

The Eagles won by scores of 25-13, 23-25, 22-25, 25-12 and 25-19.

Rebecca Gallup added nine kills and four digs for Duanesburg.

Jenna Brown had 12 kills and five blocks for Middleburgh (0-3 overall, 0-3 WAC), while Shania Marotta had five kills and four blocks.

Taryn Ildefonso added 11 assists for the Knights.

Schoharie 3, Mekeel Christian 0

SCHOHARIE - Brianna Borst had 17 service points and three aces to lead Schoharie to a sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lady Indians won by scores of 25-7, 25-12 and 25-17.

Allie Blyth added 11 points, six assists and three kills for Schoharie.
