H.S. Volleyball Roundup: FFCS outlasts Cobleskill-Richmondville

FONDA - Taylor Wetsky had 30 service points, 19 acres, eight kills and three blocks to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a 3-2 win over Cobleskill-Richmondville in a Colonial Council volleyball match Tuesday.

The Lady Braves lost the first two games 26-24 and 25-19 before rallying to win the final three game by scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-14.

Cory Lais added 15 points, nine aces and six kills for the Lady Braves (1-2 overall, 1-2 Colonial), while Sierra Park had 14 points, 10 assists and five aces.

Amelia Butler posted 14 services points and three aces for Cobleskill-Richmondville (1-3 overall, 1-3 Colonial), while Alaina Thaxter added six kills.


Galway 3, Canajoharie 0

GALWAY - Emily Orminski posted 10 service points, seven assists, four aces and two kills to lead Galway to Western Athletic Conference win over Canajoharie.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-11, 25-7 and 25-18.

Hayley Martin also had nine points, three aces and four kills for Galway (2-0 overall, 2-0 WAC), while Rachel Jones had nine points, three kills, two aces and two blocks.

Shelby Mead had three blocks and two kills for Canajoharie (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC), while Emma Stortecky had five assists. Evangeline Wilcox added four blocks for the Cougars.

Big 10

Schenectady 3, Amsterdam 1

SCHENECTADY - Katie Yang had 21 assists and 15 service points to lead Schenectady to a win over Amsterdam.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 16-25, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19.

Tara Riley posted 15 kills for Schenectady, while Tanaia Medley added 17 points.

Bayley Archinal had four blocks, four kills and two aces for Amsterdam (0-3 overall, 0-2 Big 10), while Jordann Bernardo had seven kills. Katie Ressel added nine assists and two aces for Amsterdam.
