No one is more qualified than John Clo to serve as Gloversville City Court judge.
Born and raised in Gloversville, he understands its people and its problems. After serving four years in the United States Navy and graduating from Albany Law School, this is the community he wanted to return to and serve.
His experience is unequaled. He has been in practice for 20 years. For 16 years, he served as an assistant district attorney in Montgomery County, receiving special permission from the state to continue after he moved back to Gloversville. During this time, he prosecuted a variety of cases ranging from traffic tickets to attempted murder. He was Gloversville city attorney for six years, advising two mayors and two councils. He has served as law guardian and child advocate in three counties for 18 years. He is currently serving as judge of Gloversville City Court.
His dedication to the people of Gloversville through the years also is well known and acknowledged. He is a longtime member of the Boys and Girls Club of Gloversville as well as a longtime member of the board of the Glove Performing Arts Center. He is an adviser to the Gloversville Blight Committee, a recipient of the fourth annual Domestic Violence Task Force Award and a former member of the advisory team for the Investigative Child Abuse Network. For more than 30 years, John has been a member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club, and is a member of the Concordia Club and a member of the New York State Association of City Court Judges. Clo and his popcorn machine can always be seen at community events, including Citizens Band concerts, raising money for community causes.
My family and I have known Judge Clo for more than 35 years. The voters of Gloversville could not choose a more dedicated, honest and caring person to continue serving as City Court judge. Keep Judge Clo in our Gloversville City Court.
