H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Fort Plain swept by Saints

FORT PLAIN - Natalie Pikus had 10 kills to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a 3-0 win over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Monday.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-10.

Meghan McDonough finished with 12 service points, eight assists, seven aces and three kills for Saratoga Catholic, while Erin Thornton had five aces. Sierra Matthews added four aces for the Lady Saints.

Emily Potter and Nicole Bouchard each had three assists for Fort Plain (0-2 overall, 0-2 WAC), while Elizabeth Hubbard added nine service points. Kasey Mang finished with seven service points for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Schoharie 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

BERNE - Briana Borst finished with 10 service points and three aces to lead Schoharie to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference match.

The Indians won 25-12, 25-18 and 25-20.

Sierra Diamond posted nine assists for Schoharie (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC), while Allie Blyth finished with six kills and four blocks.

Danielle Hubbard had eight aces and five kills to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC), while Gabriella Audino had seven digs and three assists. Shannon Stone added five blocks for the Bulldogs.

Mekeel Christian 3, Middleburgh 2

SCOTIA - Janie Frank had 17 service points and six kills to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a Western Athletic Conference win over Middleburgh.

The Lions won by scores of 15-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-18 win.

Brea Amedore had 10 service points for Mekeel Christian (1-1 overall, 1-1 WAC).

Anne Nelson recorded six service points and seven kills for the Lions.

Shania Marotta finished with 10 kills, five aces and two blocks for Middleburgh, while Carissa Miller posted nine digs.
